Companies face the challenge of making huge amounts of data from heterogeneous data sources usable for their business decisions. The advantages of data analytics can best be outlined with an example. Sensor data can be used to make production more efficient, faster and more robust.
- The failure of production machines can be reduced if deviations from standard operation are measured and maintenance can be planned.
- Monitoring of running out of resources can lead to targeted reordering and thus to more continuous production.
- The automated inspection of partial products through AI-based image processing can minimise production waste.
The goal is a digital twin that represents the complete production process. It allows simulations in the model without affecting actual production.
However, data science also plays a major role in many other areas, such as research and healthcare, transport planning and energy supply, as well as logistics and retail.
In this talk you will learn
- What new professions have emerged with the advent of data science?
- How do they work together? What organisational changes in IT are resulting from this?
- What new technologies have emerged as a result of Data Science?
The talk is primarily aimed at managers, business analysts and IT decision-makers, product owners and project managers.
